Ella Quante
IMPRS
Main Focus
Ella is a PhD student at the Max Planck Institute for the Science for Human History and the Palaeontology working group at the Friedrich-Schiller University. Her research aims at developing and improving the use of Quaternary non-marine Ostracoda (Crustacea) as palaeoenvironmental proxies in geoarchaeology. This includes testing proxies and methods with an actualistic study, and applying the ostracod proxies at archaeological sites.
Curriculum Vitae
Ella received both her BSc and MSc in geology-geoscience with a specialisation in sedimentology, hydrocarbon resources and palaeoclimate at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. Her MSc thesis “Dinoflagellate cysts and palynofacies analysis of the Middle Miocene in the E-8X core in the North Sea, Denmark” was part of a research project by the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland, and involved marine palynology to reconstruct the palaeoenvironment and the climatic history of the Middle Miocene North Sea.
