Main Focus
Dr. Jana Ilgner manages the institute's multifunctional laboratory and fieldwork facilities and is responsible for their maintenance. She supports health and safety assessments for lab and fieldwork, advises on sample import permits and shipment regulations.
Her research focuses on understanding human-ecosystem interactions, with a particular interest in climate and landscape change, focusing especially on CNO bulk and CNOH compound-specific isotope analyses of organic and inorganic samples.
For fieldwork projects, Jana advises on sampling strategies for different analytical methods as well as sample storage and shipping.
