John Kim

John Kim is an associate professor of Media and Cultural Studies at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA. With dozens of partner organizations, researchers, educators, and artists, John has been involved in coordinating the Mississippi River Open School for Kinship and Social Exchange, a research and educational program spanning the river's headwaters to the Gulf. John is the author of a book, Rupture of the Virtual, and numerous articles on topics including the environment, the Anthropocene, collective action, and critical media theory. John has also shown art, sculpture and video games in galleries and festivals around the world, including the House of World Cultures (Berlin), MassMOCA, DiaCenter for the Arts, the Walker Art Center, and Northern Spark.
