Main Focus
Stefanie Schirmer is a technician in the institute's multifunctional laboratory and fieldwork facilities. She works in the ZooMS/MALDI laboratory, the microscopy laboratory, and the isotope laboratory.
In the ZoomMS/MALDI laboratory, she takes over the following tasks:
- training of students and interns
- sample preparation and collagen extraction
- analysis of archaeological samples
- measurement of the samples on the mass spectrometer Maldi-TOF
- analysis of the Maldi-TOF spectra
In the microscopy laboratory she is responsible for:
- operation of stereo- and digital microscopes
- image generation on the scanning electron microscope (SEM)
- procurement of consumables for sample processing
- supporting employees in operating microscopes and preparing samples
In the isotope laboratory, she performs the following tasks:
- training of students and interns
- sample preparation and extraction
- procurement of laboratory equipment and consumables
